My official name is Caroline Radusch, but everybody calls me Lynn. Nice to meet you! I am based in Zurich, Switzerland, where are you from? Besides thoroughly enjoying my work as a therapist, and always increasing my knowledge in all things body, health and spirit, I love being outdoors enjoying the mountains, exploring new ways to move and exercise. I have participated in various sports, from horseback riding, to orienteering running, fencing, triathlon, trail running, CrossFit, Strongman, Olympic Weightlifting, Capoeira, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, ballroom dance, contemporary floor dance, and motorcycle riding; I love what the body can do and have fun with it.
After suffering multiple concussions and broken bones all over my body due to several horseback riding accidents in my youth, I studied to become a physical therapist and successfully earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Zürcher Fachhochschule Winterthur (ZHAW, Switzerland) in 2010. Even though I enjoyed learning the practical trade and becoming excellent at physical therapy treatments, neither I nor my colleagues and teachers were able to resolve my lingering problems from the concussions. I suffered from memory issues, concentration struggles, high visual fatigue, hated noisy environments, suffered from low back pain when hiking uphill more than 10 minutes, was unable to rotate my neck fully to the left side and had distinct limitations in the range of motion of my left shoulder which made pain free pull ups nearly impossible. No amount of cervical manipulation, shoulder mobilization or strengthening exercises gave me any better results - sometimes the physical therapy/ chiropractic/ osteopathic treatments and exercises actually made me worse!
Several years ago, I started attending Neuro Athletic seminars by Z-Health Performance Solutions with Dr. Eric Cobb, and learned about the key element to treating chronic and acute pain: how to specifically target and treat the nervous system as the governing system of the body. I applied individualized vestibular and visual exercises – and suddenly I was able to rotate my neck again without any pain or restriction, and my shoulder range of motion became as good as the non-injured site! My visual fatigue went away, I developed more resilience towards noisy environments, and my attention span and concentration improved significantly. Needless to say, that ever since I am hooked onto Neuro Athletics and implement the concept into my treatment sessions.
Building on my Z-Health Performance training, I completed the extensive education program from Complete Concussion Management Inc. (CCMI, Canada) to deepen my expertise in concussion treatment. Like Z-Health, CCMI focuses on the brain first, using visual and vestibular exercises alongside hands-on treatments and personalized training to support recovery and prevent future injuries.
I retake the CCMI certification about every three years to stay up to date with the latest research, which is ever so evolving as Concussion (officially called “mild traumatic brain injury”) is still a relatively "new" area of interest in the scientific research world. For decades it was thought that you just "sleep off" a concussion by lying in bed for a week in a dark room. Science has definitely overthrown this passive treatment approach. However not all medical practitioners have learned about the state-of-the treatment that is most beneficial for concussion care. It is much more active, yet requires a completely individualized approach as every body, every brain and nervous system, and every accident and injury is different.
Since opening my own practice in 2014, I have been passionate about providing evidence-based, efficient, targeted treatments for acute and chronic pain in active and sporty patients, and over the years I added the prevention and treatment of concussions to my work. Well, that was a lot about me – but how can I help YOU?
